Chairman Troy E. Nehls Gavels In Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee Greetings! I wanted to take a moment to share with you a recap on what happened last week in Texas' 22nd District and the United States House of Representatives. This Week in Washington Chairman Troy E. Nehls Gavels In Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee This week, I gaveled in as the Chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials for the first time at the hearing on Pipeline Safety. Watch my opening remarks HERE. Rep. Troy E. Nehls and Sen. Rick Scott Lead Letter to NBA Commissioner About Chinese Communist Party Propaganda GOP seeks answers from NBA over Chinese soft power display House and Senate Republicans, along with a basketball star, are demanding answers from the NBA about its financial relationship with the Chinese Communist Party following an "in-your-face" display of CCP soft power in the nation's capital. Read more thespectator.com I am proud to have led a bicameral letter to the Commissioner of the National Basketball Association (NBA) to address recently recorded messages of Communist Chinese propaganda inside an NBA arena in Washington, D.C. By continuing to appease Communist China, it emboldens them to further profit off continued human rights abuse and gives them a platform to exert their influence in our nation’s capital. It’s a national security threat, plain and simple. Rep. Troy E. Nehls and Chris Pappas Reintroduce the Medal of Honor Act GOP Rep. Nehls, Dem Rep. Chris Pappas look to finally... FIRST ON FOX: Texas Republican Rep. Troy Nehls and New Hampshire Democrat Rep. Chris Pappas are looking to finally give Medal of Honor recipients a big raise to their pensions. Fox News Digital has learned that Nehls and Pappas will be... Read more www.foxnews.com This week, I joined Congressman Chris Pappas to reintroduce the Medal of Honor Act, a bill that would increase the monthly pension for Medal of Honor Recipients to $100,000 annually. Medal of Honor recipients currently receive only $1,489.73 per month. The Medal of Honor represents the highest and most prestigious military decoration of the United States. The men and women who have earned this honor have gone above and beyond the call of duty in sacrifice to their nation. Many of these courageous individuals paid the ultimate sacrifice for our great country and only 64 of these heroes are still alive today. This legislation is the least Congress can do to show our support for our selfless heroes and ensure all our veterans, and their families, receive the care and resources they deserve. Rep. Troy E. Nehls and Sen. Roger Marshall Reintroduce Resolutions of Disapproval on Biden's Public Charge Rule EXCLUSIVE: Sen. Marshall, Rep. Nehls Reintroduce... Republican Kansas Sen. Roger Marshall and Republican Texas Rep. Troy Nehls reintroduced a resolution in their respective chambers Wednesday that would block citizenship for illegal immigrants dependent on taxpayer-funded benefits. Read more dailycaller.com This week, I joined Senator Roger Marshall to reintroduce House and Senate Resolutions of Disapproval of President Biden’s 2022 “public charge” rule. The Trump Administration defined any immigrant who received one or more designated public benefits for more than 12 months within a 36-month period as a "public charge." This legislation would block citizenship for illegal immigrants dependent on taxpayer-funded benefits. We have millions of our own American citizens without health insurance and receiving SNAP benefits, as well as hundreds of thousands sleeping on the streets at night. Instead of making it a priority to find our own citizens homes, meals, and health insurance, Joe Biden continues to exacerbate the issue. It is time we protect states and American taxpayers from the burden of supporting incoming foreign nationals. It's time the Biden Administration puts America First. Rep. Troy E. Nehls Joined Sens. Sullivan and Daines to Reintroduce Red Tape Act This week, I joined U.S. Senators Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and Steve Daines (R-Mont.), in reintroducing The RED (Regulations Endanger Democracy) Tape Act, a bill that would help rein in the administrative state and grow our country’s economy by freezing the growing number of federal regulations promulgated each year. President Trump had it right when he signed the ‘2-for-1’ order to reduce regulatory requirements in 2017. It was probably the most significant administrative action in the regulatory reform works since the creation of the OIRA in the 1980s. It's time to drain the D.C. Swamp and protect American businesses from the out-of-control Biden Administration. Read more HERE. Rep. Troy E. Nehls Joined House Freedom Caucus in Holding a Press Conference to Shrink Washington and Save America I joined my House Freedom Caucus colleagues to discuss the consideration of voting to raise the debt ceiling upon the enactment of legislation to cut spending by President Bidens' administration. We must cut the wasteful spending of the Biden Administration. It is long past time to put the American people first. Rep. Troy E. Nehls on Fox News Discussing the China Lab Leak & the Kidnapping of Four Americans in Mexico This week, I joined Fox & Friends to discuss the reports that COVID-19 leaked from a Chinese lab and the kidnapping of four American citizens at gunpoint in Mexico.
