Declassifying the Origins of COVID-19
Friend,
Today, the House unanimously passed legislation to declassify the origins of COVID-19. The COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023, requires the Director of National Intelligence to declassify all information on the origins of COVID-19 and any potential links with the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China. The Director of National Intelligence is given 90 days to declassify this information with the necessary redactions. This will provide the American people with information about the Wuhan Lab's research activities related to the COVID-19 outbreak, including any information about researchers that may have fallen ill.
Almost three years later, every American deserve to know what caused the COVID-19 pandemic, and how we can learn from the challenges we've had in the last three years. Americans deserve to know the truth.
The COVID-19 pandemic uprooted our economy, forcing millions of Americans out of jobs. The pandemic closed our schools, significantly impacting our children's mental health and their ability to learn. Millions of Americans have lost a loved one from COVID-19. There is still too much uncertainty from the pandemic, and every American deserves to know the origins of this virus.
The Senate also passed this legislation unanimously, and it is headed to the President's desk for his signature. I am hopeful that by declassifying the origins of COVID-19, we will have more answers to the many questions we have had for over three years.
I want to hear your thoughts, as every American was significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
