John, today is the second-ever International Day of Women Judges, as established by the United Nations.

We are proud to join the international community in recognizing the important contributions of women judges around the world, as well as the importance of equal representation in the courts. The participation of women at all levels of decision-making, on equal terms with men, is essential to true democracy.

You may not know this, but Pennsylvania has done a great job at electing a judiciary with equal representation for women.

We are just about two months away from the Judicial/Municipal/Local Primary Elections. In addition to lower court vacancies, Pennsylvanians will decide who fills several appellate court judicial vacancies: two on our Superior Court, one on our Commonwealth Court, and one on our state Supreme Court. Each of these contests is significant.

Looking ahead to 2025, there will be three justices up for retention elections. This is extremely important to remember.

NPP’s work of civic education and voter engagement is crucial in turning out the vote in this year's Judicial/Municipal/Local Elections. We continue to help educate constituents on why courts matter and how decisions affect our everyday lives.

Will you donate $10 now to support the work of the New Pennsylvania Project in voter engagement and civic education, especially around PA’s state courts to ensure voter turnout in this year’s Judicial/Municipal/Local Elections?

The New Pennsylvania Project was founded in May 2021 to expand Pennsylvania’s electorate, so it reflects the Commonwealth’s demographically changing population. In the next four years, NPP will engage and empower young residents and those living in underrepresented immigrant communities and communities of color. We register communities to vote, provide civic education about the issues that matter in their neighborhoods, and mobilize Pennsylvanians to vote in every election.
