Podcast: Minneapolis Pregnancy Resource Center Attacked

This weekend, pro-abortion activists vandalized a Pregnancy Resource Center in Minneapolis, which provides life-saving care for women, children, and families in one of our local minority communities. Tammy Kocher, Executive Director of New Life Family Services, joins Grace to share about the pro-abortion attack and the PRC’s incredible work. Here’s the bottom line: these attacks show that the pro-abortion movement in Minnesota is threatened by the life-saving work of PRCs. And we’ll never stop protecting women and children from abortion and giving women the support they both need and deserve to choose life.

Bill Would Ban Christian Colleges from Offering PSEO Courses

The Minnesota Legislature is considering a bill, HF1269, that would ban Christian colleges from offering PSEO courses. We have a quote from True North Legal's Renee Carlson, and a summary from Alpha News:

“A Democratic Representative said HF 1269 is about inclusion — a bill that disqualifies religious colleges adhering to a Statement of Faith from participating in Minnesota’s PSEO. HF 1269 is really about exclusion — EXCLUDING colleges and individuals based on their religious beliefs, inconsistent with state and federal law. Nothing could be more exclusionary than the categorical denial of services based on an individual’s or school’s religious belief. Penalizing young students and faith based schools for their religious beliefs is wrong! All Minnesota students deserve better!”

Another Democratic legislator, Rep. Cedrick Frazier, even compared faith-based admission requirements to the segregation-era doctrine of "Separate but equal," implying that Christian schools who hold faculty and students to a statement of faith are intolerant and exclusionary.

Watch the clip here.

Summary from Alpha News:

A proposal to bar colleges that require a statement of faith from participating in the Postsecondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program is buried within Gov. Tim Walz’s education

policy bill

.

The

Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act

allows Minnesota high school students to earn both high school and college credits for free, since the schools are reimbursed by the state.

The bill,

HF1269

, amends the definition of an eligible institution to read: “An eligible institution must not require a faith statement during the application process or base any part of the admission decision on a student’s race, creed, ethnicity, disability, gender, or sexual orientation or religious beliefs or affiliations.”

The University of Northwestern–St. Paul is one such school that requires a statement of faith for all of its on-campus students.

Blog: Women and Girls Deserve Better than the ERA

By Patience Griswold

The Minnesota legislature is currently considering two bills to pass “Equal Rights” amendments, one to amend Minnesota Constitution and one calling on Congress to ratify an amendment to the U.S. Constitution. These amendments, under the banner of “equality,” would strip women of opportunities and could be used as the basis of a constitutional “right” to abortion.

Women already have equal rights under the 5th and 14th Amendments, and numerous Minnesota laws prohibit sex-based discrimination. These proposed amendments are unnecessary and would do far more harm than good.

The federal Equal Rights Amendment officially failed in 1982 when it passed the agreed upon deadline without the necessary 38 ratifying states.

Minnesota’s SF 47

(

HF197

) urges Congress to pass a resolution stating that the Equal Rights Amendment is ratified, despite the fact that three of the ratifying states missed the deadline by over 35 years, and five other states rescinded their approval. Even a staunch supporter of the amendment, the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg,

questioned the legitimacy of this tactic

Prayer at the Capitol - March 23, 2023 - 2PM

In light of the darkness we're seeing at the Legislature, it's time to bring God's light! A prayer meeting is being organized for Thursday, March 23, at the Capitol in St. Paul. Here's a message from the organizer:

Please, anyone who can, meet our family at the Capitol to pray for Minnesotans and it's leaders, for wise laws to be passed and spiritual strongholds to be brought down, so many will see, repent, and turn to Christ and be rescued from sins and receive eternal life, then live as lighthouses for God's Kingdom.

Thursday, March 23, from noon to 2pm. Meet at the front of the State Capitol on the upper mall area. Pray for good weather and dress for the weather. Bring your Bibles. We will walk around, pray and read Scripture aloud in prayer and encouragement. Please respect Capitol rules and grounds, pick anything up you may drop, and park in approved parking spots.

We are so excited to join in prayer for so many lives in Minnesota and beyond, with whomever can make it! Email [email protected] for more information.

Someday when abortion is illegal and unthinkable, will you or your grandchildren be able to look back and know that, when you lived in a city where thousands of children were being killed every year while government officials were suppressing the real help available to pregnant women, you were one of the courageous people who did something about it? Attend this seminar and learn how to save these babies and help their families by peacefully reaching out in love to those entering abortion centers.

Not sure whether sidewalk counseling is for you? Come and see! Christians of all denominations are encouraged to attend this free seminar. Sidewalk prayer supporters are also needed and welcome to attend.

Presented by Debra Braun, who has been sidewalk counseling for 40 years, Rev. Brian Walker, who has 13 years of sidewalk counseling experience, and Thomas Wilkin, who has trained and mentored many new sidewalk counselors. If you can hand someone a brochure, you can help save a life!
