Team,

If you've served this country, we should have your back. But, for too long, service members and veterans have struggled with mental health challenges in silence.

Nobody who has risked their life in service to our nation should have to face otherwise treatable life-or-death mental health crises after returning home. That's why I am honored to announce that I will be co-chairing a bipartisan Military Mental Health Task Force along with Representative Guy Reschenthaler.

Together, we will seek to address issues pertaining to mental health and suicide prevention among current and former service members. All veterans should receive the benefits they've earned, and that includes access to a full range of life-saving mental health services.

We should never take for granted the bravery and selflessness of our men and women in uniform. Please join me in recommitting to the work to support our veterans and service members by adding your name today. >> [link removed]

I've proudly supported several pieces of legislation to support our nation's veterans. From bipartisan bills to make the VA more accessible to legislation to help end the veteran mental health crisis and initiatives focused on ensuring every veteran has a job. Now, I’m honored to continue the work on the Military Mental Health Task Force.

It's an honor to serve you,

Derek
