The House passed two bonding bills on Monday. I voted no on the first bonding bill because I do not believe we should be borrowing $1.5 billion with a $17.5 billion surplus in the state of Minnesota. I voted for the second bonding bill, which included funding for improvements to Highway 169/Trunk Highway 282 in Jordan, because this much needed project will be paid with cash. I have been championing this project since I took office, and I am proud that my bill was included. These highway improvements are critical to the safety of our community, and I will be working hard to secure the remaining funds needed for this important project.

This week is first deadline, meaning that any bill that will be moving forward this session must have a hearing before the end of the day today. The Education Policy and Education Finance committees have been meeting frequently so we can complete all our work.
