Last night, VoteRiders hosted a virtual letter writing event. 56 volunteers came together to write 1,096 letters to voters in Arizona, Florida, and Wisconsin ahead of critical state and local elections this spring.

These are all states with restrictive and confusing voter ID laws, and every single letter our volunteers write and send delivers essential information and assistance to voters most likely to be disenfranchised by their state’s laws. So far in 2023 we've already sent 7,132 handwritten letters to voters!

It cost VoteRiders $1,500 to organize and host this letter writing event, and it will cost us thousands more to provide free ID documents to the voters who contact us after receiving letters. Will you chip in to help defray those costs and ensure we can continue organizing volunteer events like this to reach more voters in the months ahead?

We’re reaching out to voters ahead of critical elections to make sure they have the information they need to cast a ballot with confidence:
* In Wisconsin, voters will determine the direction of the State Supreme Court — which could have major consequences on voting rights, gerrymandering, and the outcome of the 2024 presidential election. The last Wisconsin Supreme Court election was decided by fewer than 6,000 votes!
* In Jacksonville, Florida, voters will have the opportunity to elect a new mayor, which will have a big impact on taxes, infrastructure, and law enforcement for this city of 1 million people.
* In Arizona, newly-implemented ID laws are causing confusion about what ID is acceptable for voter registration and voting.

When those letters hit their mailboxes, those 1,096 voters will be prepared to vote in elections where they live.
