Hi John,
Election season is in full swing right now.
Congratulations to our four stellar diverse young progressives in Wisconsin who just won their primaries on February 21!
Check them out:
-
Julia Matthews, running for Madison City Council, District 12, is a renter and clinical researcher at UW-Madison and is on the frontlines of the affordable housing crisis, ready to fight to ensure every resident is represented in government.
-
Juliana Bennet, currently a student at UW-Madison running to become an alder on Madison Common Council, is running for Madison City Council, District 2. As a community organizer during the 2020 Black Lives Matter movement and co-founder of the Madison BIPOC Coalition, Juliana will represent, include, and amplify voices that have been historically left out.
-
Maxwell Laubenstein, running for Madison City Council, District 4, a biological systems engineering student, is passionate about the intersections of climate justice and will be a fierce advocate for sustainable infrastructure and the rights of all neighbors in his district.
-
MGR Govindarajan, another student at UW-Madison running for Madison City Council, District 8, is a first-generation immigrant and running on a progressive platform that prioritizes the voices of students and young people.
We're incredibly proud of these four courageous candidates who've taken the leap to fight for change in Wisconsin, and we're doing everything in our power to make sure they win in their general elections in April. And it doesn't stop in Wisconsin.
Four states are holding legislative elections this year, and there are dozens of other school board, city council, and municipal elections happening all over the country.
