If the NRA and the politicians in their pocket refuse to take common-sense action to protect Americans, we must remove them from power.
John,
The gun lobby has our country's government in a chokehold. It’s unacceptable.
So far this year, over 7,800 people have died from gun violence. The NRA's response?
The gun lobby has shown us time and time again that they don't care about the lives we lose to gun violence every year. If the NRA and the politicians in their pocket refuse to take common-sense action to protect Americans, we must remove them from power.
That starts with overturning Citizens United and removing the hold the NRA has on our politics through the millions of dollars they've spent buying politicians at the expense of our children, family members, and neighbors.
John, in Congress, Summer is working to pass an assault weapons ban, expand background checks, and end protections for corporate gun manufacturers. If you're with Team Summer in this effort, will you chip in $5 or more to help take on the NRA and pass commonsense gun violence prevention legislation?

One of the first bills Summer co-sponsored in the 118th Congress was Rep. David Cicilline's Assault Weapons Ban to ban weapons designed for the military that have no place in our neighborhoods, take on the gun lobby, and keep people safe.
But Summer knows that an assault weapons ban is just one piece of the puzzle. In communities like PA-12, gun violence often means the widespread violence that happens in our streets with handguns. To address gun violence in Western Pennsylvania, we must tackle the root causes directly correlated with poverty, educational inequity, housing insecurity, and poor wages.
The truth is gun violence is not an isolated issue. It's a social services issue. It's a public safety issue. And it's a money-in-politics issue.
John, to take on the NRA, we need the support of this whole movement. If you can, please consider chipping in $5 or any amount now to continue this work and make the change we need.
In solidarity,
Emilia Rowland
