1. CAROLINA JOURNAL: Legislative intervention ensures NC abortion pill suit will face real hearing

“North Carolina’s Democratic attorney general and Republican legislative leaders have taken opposite sides in a legal dispute over state laws restricting abortion pills.

But there’s at least one point of agreement. Both sides are willing to accept lawmakers’ participation in the legal fight.

It’s one of the first times the issue has cropped up since the U.S. Supreme Court ruled last year, in an 8-1 decision, that N.C. legislators have a right to intervene in federal lawsuits challenging state laws.”

2. NC VALUES: The March to Detransitioning

March 12 is Detrans Awareness Day, as victims of gender reassignment surgeries and cross sex hormones strive to raise awareness of the devastating, irreversible damage transitioning has caused.

3. CAROLINA JOURNAL: Outrageous story of the week: Librarians gone wild

“If you’ve visited a library lately, you may have had the sense that you’d entered a radical bookshop in a Portland alley — with book displays set up in support of the latest cause and banners celebrating the current holy week (or month) on the progressive calendar.

And many tax-paying citizens are tired of seeing their money going to fund the advancement of somebody else’s political agenda.”

4. WASHINGTON EXAMINER: House panel takes up federal ban on biological males competing in female sports for first time

“The House Education and Workforce Committee will be reviewing bills that would prohibit biological males from competing in women's sports programs and protect parental rights at a Wednesday markup, the committee announced Monday. The panel, led by Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC), announced Monday that it had scheduled the first committee markup for the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023 and the Parents Bill of Rights Act.“

5. AP DILLON: NC's Foxx helps roll out revived Natl. Parents Bill of Rights

“H.R. 5, the Parents Bill of Rights, has 5 pillars to ensure parents have the right to have a voice in their kids’ education, per a release by McCarthy’s office.

  • Right to know what’s being taught in schools and to see reading material
  • Right to be heard
  • Right to see school budget and spending
  • Right to protect their child’s privacy

Weekly Prayer: Life

LORD, we recognize that you are Sovereign over all creation. We recognize you made man from the dust, and in your mercy, you crowned creation with man and woman made in your image. What a wonder it is that you would bestow upon us this blessing and responsibility!

LORD, may we not take this blessing for granted. We pray that this great responsibility and dignity may motivate us to love You, our neighbors, and our families more. LORD, may we as a culture truly see and believe that children are a blessing from the LORD—born or unborn; able or disabled. All children should have an opportunity to experience the liberty of life. LORD, make us your vehicle to change our culture into one that cherishes and protects life. Keep at the forefront of our minds our responsibilities to respect, cherish, and serve the youngest and oldest in our society.

"At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, 'Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?' He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.'" (Matthew 18:1-6)

Amen
