The Hill: New executive order will expand race preferences throughout the federal government

 

Individuals should be treated as individuals and not on the basis of their membership in racial groups, especially by our government.

Unfortunately, a new executive order encourages federal agencies to focus on racial identity. The result, writes Alison Somin, will be new racial quotas in government hiring and procuring. The order even forces agencies to use artificial intelligence “in a manner that advances equity."

Congress holds hearing on unconstitutional agency—and PLF lawyer testifies

 

On Thursday, the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy held a hearing about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), a uniquely unconstitutional agency that lost to PLF client Townstone Financial in federal court late last month.

Jessica Thompson, a PLF litigator on that case, testified at the hearing about why CFPB—and the power it wields—is so problematic for the constitutional separation of powers.
