Next month, Love146 staff will be speaking at the Nonprofit Technology Conference on "The Best-Kept Nonprofit Secret: Mission-Driven Support Staff". Senior Director of Operations and Human Resources Jennifer Franz, Senior Operations and Human Resources Manager Shirley Higerd-Rusli, and Technology Manager Grace Hopkins will share the power of nonprofit team members who get the mission and ensure the nonprofit is able to run smoothly.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children launched a new tool for survivors of online child sexual abuse: Take It Down. The platform allows users to submit a request for help to remove nude, partially nude, or sexually explicit photos and videos depicting a child under 18 years old from the surfaces of participating electronic service providers.

Marlena King, Love146 Survivor Care Employment & Education Manager, recently reflected on her work to end child trafficking. She shared,
"Mistakes are a natural part of being human. We work with survivors of child trafficking. Their journey to recovery isn’t easy and it certainly isn’t perfect. It comes with many obstacles and bumps in the road.
But after over 20 years of doing this work, we’ve seen the radical difference that it makes when a child knows someone believes in them, and they don’t have to walk alone."

* Meets a young person’s practical needs of food, healthcare, and education as they heal.

* Supports a survivor to access and succeed in higher education and employment.

* Helps a victim to seek justice against their traffickers.

* Prevents trafficking by helping a child understand vulnerability, spot the signs of trafficking, identify healthy support systems, and learn skills they need to stay safe.

* Responds to a child who may be in danger by going to meet with them, listen to them, give them resources, and help them understand if they've been victimized.

* Equips a professional with an up-to-date and research-based child trafficking prevention curriculum, bringing it to youth in schools, juvenile justice and child welfare agencies, and other community settings.
