“Sen. Whitehouse Flags Climate Costs” - The New York Times
Team,
For well over a decade, Senator Whitehouse has led the fight to protect our planet from the cataclysmic effects of climate change — warning of the environmental effects and economic risks to Americans, and the dark-money political machinery opposing us.
Sheldon’s long fight to lead the planet to safety was recently chronicled in The New York Times, which you can read here.
It hasn’t always been easy. Sheldon saw the looming climate catastrophe long before others did and he’s relentlessly gone toe to toe with the powerful fossil fuel industry denial machine to try to stop it.
Whether it’s rising sea levels crashing coastal property values or wildfires causing insurance collapse, Sheldon has been telling it like it is: Climate change will have financial consequences for every corner of the country, and inaction is the most expensive route we can take.
With climate change-related disasters on the rise, we can’t afford to let the fossil fuel industry bake the planet to the point of no return and devastate our economy.
So please, can you contribute anything you can afford to keep Sheldon in the Senate where he’s leading the charge to prevent environmental and economic disaster?
Right now, Americans are footing the bill for the fossil fuel industry’s greed. This has to change – and Senator Whitehouse is doing everything in his power to prevent climate disaster and head off an economic crisis.
Thank you for your support,
Team Whitehouse
