Dear Colleagues,

[link removed] Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders signed legislation Wednesday permitting any Arkansas student to use public money to pay for private educational services, she joined Republicans in 30 states who have proposed legislation since the start of the year to create or expand tax-funded programs that help parents cover the cost of private education.

To help inform the national conversation about these initiatives, FutureEd has reexamined the research on private-school choice, identified every major private-school-choice program nationwide, analyzed the trends they reflect, and sought to answer key questions about the programs, including whom they serve and their impact on student achievement.

Our new work includes:
* An analysis of the private-school-choice landscape ([link removed]) and the implications for families, taxpayers and policymakers of new, universal programs in Arkansas and other states
* A table detailing the private-school-choice options ([link removed]) currently available in every state
* A legislative tracker ([link removed]) listing 94 bills introduced in state legislatures so far this year
* Interactive maps ([link removed]) of states offering each major type of public support for private education
