Welcome to the SFTR team, Dylan and Nick!

Dylan Fabris, Community & Policy Manager

Nick Levi, Community Organizer

We are thrilled that our team is growing and know that Dylan and Nick both bring a lot of skills and experience to the table.

Dylan will lead SFTR’s initiatives to support local and regional policy and advocacy efforts with a focus on achieving social and environmental justice. Dylan will also be supporting our engagement with our community of members. Dylan grew up in the suburbs of car-dependent Southern California and has since fallen in love with the freedom provided by San Francisco’s diverse public transit system. Dylan believes in the power of public transportation to connect and strengthen communities, and is excited to help advocate for a better, more equitable transportation system in San Francisco. Outside of work, you can find Dylan exploring the city by bike, relaxing in Golden Gate Park, or hopping on the N-Judah to spend a day at the beach.

Nick is a dedicated and driven professional with a passion for public transportation. Having grown up in New York City, Nick has developed a deep understanding of the role public transit systems play in urban environments, and since moving to San Francisco, he has become an avid MUNI and BART rider. In his current role as a Community Organizer for the San Francisco Transit Riders, he works to improve public transportation in the Bay Area by cultivating relationships with community stakeholders and conveying necessary infrastructure improvements to the SFMTA and other officials. In addition to his current position, Nick has a history of community organizing, policy, and advocacy experiences, including roles with the government affairs team at the California Academy of Sciences, on policy and electoral campaigns, and in the offices of elected officials.

Save the date! Join us for SFTR's March Members Forum on March 16!

Join your fellow San Francisco Transit Riders members and help SFTR form a formal position in response to SFMTA's consideration of a fare increase and pause in service restoration. SFTR staff will present on recent updates from SFMTA before turning to members for feedback on how we should respond to SFMTA's proposals. We want to make sure that our position and advocacy centers the voice of riders — riders like you. Please join us as we craft our response.

This meeting is open to SFTR members only. Click here or the link below to become a member (any donation amount makes you a member!) and then RSVP to this incredible event!

Better Buses Needed in Bayview-Hunters Point

It must be a priority to give the people of the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhoods proper access to the rest of the city.

Meea Liang is a disabled, elderly, and low-income resident of the Northern Cooperative Community, in the hills of the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood. She relies on the Muni 44 and 15 and takes the 23 sometimes, but the hill makes it difficult for her to reach the bus stops. The T line remains hard to reach as well. “I want the bus lines to run more frequently and be on time, timing is so important because I have to get to work and run errands on a schedule.”

In the Bayview-Hunters Point, it can take three or four times longer to get somewhere by transit than by car. The lack of good transit limits residents’ access to food, housing, jobs, and spaces to gather and organize. Safer, more reliable, and more accessible transit is needed.
