John, We are thrilled to share that last night, the Washington State House of Representatives passed our assault weapons ban bill! This incredible progress means this lifesaving policy is one step closer to becoming law. This is a HUGE victory for our movement–one that would have been unimaginable just a few short years ago. Assault weapons are the firearm of choice for mass shooters because they are designed to kill quickly and efficiently. That is why they have been used in each of the deadliest mass shootings in the last decade. Right now, we are on the brink of making Washington the 10th state in the nation to ban the sale of these weapons of war. But our fight isn’t over yet. This bill still needs to make it through the Senate and our opponents are determined to make sure that doesn’t happen.
