2023 Washington State Housing Tools and Incentives Survey

The Washington State Department of Commerce is surveying local jurisdictions to collect information about local actions supporting housing production and affordability. The data collected will inform the 2023 Affordable Housing Advisory Board (AHAB) Five-Year Housing Advisory Plan, mandated by RCW 43.185B.040 [ [link removed] ]. By completing this survey, you will help AHAB develop policy recommendations for supporting local jurisdictions to advance solutions to preserve and develop affordable housing.

This survey includes questions about:


* Housing Tools and Incentives
* Zoning and Development Regulation Changes
* Funding
* Tenant Protections
* Partnerships

Please coordinate locally to ensure that only one representative from your jurisdiction completes this survey *by April 7, 2023.*

*Please note that jurisdictions in King, Kitsap, Pierce, and Snohomish Counties *that completed a similar Puget Sound Regional Council (PSRC) survey administered in the Fall of 2022 may choose to opt out of this survey. Commerce is coordinating with PSRC to merge data from the two survey efforts. Thank you in advance for your time and effort in completing this survey.
