Despite hundreds of Starbucks stores around the country voting to unionize
over the past year, Starbucks — led by billionaire CEO Howard Schultz —
hasn’t negotiated a single contract.

Now, Bernie is supporting workers and demanding answers from one of the
richest people in the country. Just one day before the HELP Committee was
set to subpoena Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, the billionaire agreed to
testify. This is exactly the kind of accountability we need to see from
our leaders.

We’re fighting for a world where this isn’t the exception in American

The National Labor Relations Board has found at least 80 times Starbucks
has broken the law with illegal union-busting activities. Mega
corporations like Starbucks have learned that they can exploit,
manipulate, punish, and fire employees with impunity — but together with
Bernie, we’re going to make sure that won’t stand.

It’s time for a new kind of Congress — one where our representatives
empathize with baristas and cashiers more than CEOs. We can build a
generation of leaders who come from our communities and understand our
struggles. Whether they’re teachers or nurses, bartenders or community
organizers; whether they’re single parents or paying off student debt, our
candidates will put the people first.
