Student Access to School Nurses |
Some ADHD Medications Are in Short Supply. School nurses are keeping a close watch on the shortage. Frequently, they’re taking the lead in communicating updates and offering insight to parents, school staff, and health care providers.
“It is a lot for school nurses to do. We navigate the healthcare and education system and know how to bring them together,” said Kate King, NASN president-elect. “This is why we need a full-time school nurse in every building, every day.”

Endometriosis Awareness Month | |
Endometriosis is a complex disease causing multiple symptoms, including pain, which disrupts the lives of approximately 200 million women and girls worldwide, and diagnoses and treatments are often problematic. Every March, Endometriosis Month is observed to bring awareness and highlight the need for education and research on endometriosis and its related health disorders.
- Through the lens of endometriosis, the film Below the Belt shows how women are often dismissed, discounted & disbelieved, revealing how millions are silenced and how, by fighting back, we can improve healthcare for everyone. NASN is a proud partner of this film.
-
See the NASN course Shhhh! The Truth About Period Taboos to find practical tools to encourage open communication about periods and how to recognize symptoms of related conditions like endometriosis.
