THE WEEK'S BIG 3
The spread of white supremacist propaganda soared to record levels in 2022, according to a report published Thursday by ADL. This week saw the launch of ADL’s Entertainment Leadership Council, a cohort of top executives and creatives in the film, television, music and media space with a collective mission to combat antisemitism and societal hate. ADL joined other religious organizations, including a number of Catholic and Christian groups, in urging the Supreme Court to rule in Groff v. DeJoy that employers must adhere to a more stringent standard in rejecting religious accommodations.
Read on for more on these headlines, news you can use to fight hate and the latest info about ADL from around the country.

White Supremacist Propaganda Soared Last Year, Report Finds
“A Michigan man allegedly threatened on social media to kill Jewish members of the Michigan government, the FBI said, and state Attorney General Dana Nessel says she was among those targeted. The incident adds to recent concerns about threats against public officials as well as reports of increasing antisemitic incidents across the country. It also evokes the plot to kidnap Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer as well as the at-times threatening demonstrations against Covid-19 protocols in the state.” The New York Times:

ADL Forms Entertainment Leadership Council to Fight Antisemitism
“In the face of rampant antisemitism and hate crime statistics soaring in the United States and abroad — per the FBI, Jews are the most targeted ethno-religious group in the U.S. — the ADL (Anti-Defamation League) has announced the launch of its ADL Entertainment Leadership Council, a cohort of top executives and creatives in the film, television, music and media space. The group’s collection mission: to combat societal hate, including antisemitism. ‘ADL is the oldest anti-hate organization in America. We’ve been focused on fighting antisemitism, and all forms of bigotry, for 110 years,' says Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO and national director. 'And one of
the issues that is obvious to us, and I think that is obvious to all, is that popular culture shapes the public conversation.’” Variety:

Jewish Groups Urge Supreme Court to Change Religious Workplace Accommodation Standards
“More than a dozen Jewish groups filed or joined briefs last week urging the Supreme Court to reevaluate its past precedent on religious accommodations in the workplace and make it more difficult for employers to deny accommodations. The organizations are weighing in on the Groff v. DeJoy case set to be argued later this term. They’re supporting Gerald Groff, a former mailman and evangelical Christian who refused to work on Sundays in observance of his Sabbath.” Jewish Insider:
