Dear John,
March 31 is Trans Day of Visibility, but at the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE) and NCTE Action Fund, we’ll be celebrating all month long, sharing stories of gender euphoria, and amplifying the voices of trans individuals who are joyfully living out loud.
And while we can and should celebrate trans lives this month and every month, let’s not forget that, for many trans people, living out loud could compromise their safety and security, housing, employment, familial relationships, and friendships.
That’s why I’m asking you to do more than celebrate visibility. I’m inviting you to take action.
This year, the National Center for Trans Equality celebrates our 20th anniversary. Since 2003, we’ve been working toward a future where all trans people are seen, heard, respected, loved, and have the same rights and protections as our cisgender counterparts.
We’ve come a long way since 2003, but there are still miles to go, and we need you with us.
Each year, we receive an influx of one-time donations in March, and we are grateful for that support. But today I’m asking you to go the extra mile for trans lives and trans rights. Invest in trans leadership all year long by becoming a monthly donor to the Action Fund.
Monthly donations provide organizations with reliable, steady streams of support that help to sustain our work throughout the year. Whether you give $5, $20, or $100, your contribution will have a lasting impact.
Thank you for all of the ways you show up for trans people.
