Whether you work in health care, a coffee shop, or newsroom, your fight is my fight.
John — I promise to always show up to defend the right of workers to organize and improve their conditions. That's why I am proud to be an original cosponsor of the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act.
The PRO Act is the most significant worker protection legislation since the Great Depression. It would make urgent and necessary amendments to outdated labor laws, including prohibiting employers from permanently replacing striking workers, banning the use of lockouts, and strengthening the legal rights of employees to join a labor union.
Together, we can invest in a growing, robust labor movement that reflects the future of our workforce across race, gender, and industry. Passing the PRO Act in Congress and protecting workers organizing at the federal level will be foundational.
Please chip in today to help grow our campaign dedicated to working people and advance this bill so it reaches President Biden’s desk. Together, we have the power to reject the status quo that only benefits the rich and powerful and make a difference for working families.

I’ve said it before and I'll say it again: Pittsburgh is a union town and we must do all we can to empower those organizing for better working conditions. Yesterday, I joined striking Pittsburgh Post-Gazette workers who have been on strike for months. I’ve supported the PGH Guild since the beginning, including refusing interviews with the paper because abusive working conditions and attacks on the free press by conservative ownership only end up kicking good journalists out of newsrooms.
I could not and would not be here in Congress if it were not for our labor movement. Our labor movement taught me how to fight in DC — and we are fighting — for Medicare for All, for fair contracts, and for the PRO Act.
Whether you work in health care, a coffee shop, or newsroom, your fight is my fight. I'm already getting to work to pass legislation that supports a livable wage and aims to close the unnecessary gap between skyrocketing corporate profits and working people's poverty wages.
If you can, will you chip in today so I can stay off the phones and focus the majority of my time legislating? Every donation goes directly toward building a movement to invest in working people and an economy where all families can thrive.
We all deserve to live in a world where we are guaranteed dignity, safety, and prosperity.
Let’s build it together.
