John, this week I had the honor of delivering my first budget address as Pennsylvania’s Governor.

I outlined my plan to boost innovation and economic development in Pennsylvania, and make sure the doors of opportunity and freedom are open for everyone.

Here’s just some of what we’re going to do with this new budget plan, John:

We’re going to make a major down payment on innovation and economic development across our Commonwealth.

We’re going to protect our workers and ensure Pennsylvania never becomes a right-to-work state.

We’re going to create a tax credit to encourage Pennsylvanians to become nurses, police officers and teachers – critical jobs that are going unfilled right now.

We’re going to pay childcare workers a competitive salary and give them the benefits they deserve.

We’re going to provide universal free breakfast to every single child in our public schools.

We’re going to fight to finally raise the minimum wage to $15.

We’re going to put real resources into studying and addressing why black mothers are three times as likely to die during childbirth.

We’re going to create good-paying jobs and fulfill our constitutional obligation to protect Pennsylvanian’s clean air and pure water – because we don’t need to choose between protecting jobs and protecting our planet.

We’re going to increase funding for public education by a billion dollars this year.

And we’re going to ensure LGBTQ+ Pennsylvanians have the right to marry who they love and be who they are, protect women’s right to choose, and guarantee the right to vote will never be infringed upon.
