Did you know that a 60-day film shoot can use 39,000 plastic bottles? Plastic is everywhere. Our water, our soil - even our own bodies. It’s also littering our screens.

We’re in the height of the award season, with all eyes turned to Hollywood, so there’s never been a better time for you to join us in helping the film and television industry remove single-use plastics from our screens and sets.

Plastic Pollution Coalition’s (PPC) Flip the Script on Plastics initiative needs your help to present reusable and package-free alternatives on screen, and get accurate portrayals of the dangers of plastic pollution into storylines.

Life imitates art, and it’s been shown that what people see on screen influences – and can even shift – our cultural norms.

Today’s media feature a seemingly endless stream of single-use plastics on screen, most of which is never shown disposed of. This contributes to the false narrative of magically disappearing trash, the idea that once you’re done with the plastic, it goes away. But you know that this ignores the harm done to our communities and the environment.
