When the Supreme Court ruled that federal courts cannot place guardrails on partisan gerrymandering, A.G. Holder said: 'We are going to have to go state by state to protect voting rights.' That’s exactly what we’ve been doing – and our strategy is paying off! Last November, our grassroots movement helped Democrats win total control of states like Michigan and Minnesota. Now, those states are working to expand voting rights! Still, we must remain vigilant. In states like Arizona and Ohio, Republicans are working to implement new restrictions on voting. And in Wisconsin, an upcoming state supreme court race could have major implications for voting rights and the 2024 presidential election.
