Stop
U.S. endless wars!
Protest on March 18 to demand: End the siege on Syria!
U.S. troops out of Iraq, Syria and the Middle East!
In a shameful display of loyalty to the war machine, Congress voted
overwhelmingly last night to reject a resolution that would have led
to the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Syria. The Pentagon has
illegally had soldiers on the ground in the north of the country since
at least 2015 despite objections from the sovereign government of
Syria. Their presence is also illegal under U.S. law, since their
deployment was not authorized by Congress but instead fraudulently
justified under the Authorization for the Use of Military Force passed
in response to the September 11th attacks.
The U.S. government is also maintaining a comprehensive sanctions
regime targeting Syria even in the face of the devastating earthquake
that caused thousands of deaths in the country last month. The
sanctions on Syria were imposed as part of the all-out regime change
drive by the United States, aiming to strangle the economy and hasten
the overthrow of the government by U.S.-backed armed groups. This
cruel policy must come to an end.
On March 18, people from across the country will converge on the
White House to speak out against endless U.S. wars, including economic
warfare. From Syria to Ukraine to Taiwan, U.S. intervention is causing
and inflaming all the most dire crises in the world and bringing
humanity to the edge of a devastating global confrontation. The people
need to take to the streets against the Pentagon's war drive!
