Building CommuniTEA for Black women and girls doesn't end with knowledge or support —we also need policy change to reassert our own bodily autonomy.
Join us tonight at 6:30pm EST for a dynamic workshop led by Black women about how stigma, fear, and the social determinants of health impact black women and girls' access to reproductive health and their health outcomes. In addition, we will discuss how as a CommuniTEA, we can advocate for policies like the REPEAL HIV Discrimination Act to decriminalize HIV and help decrease the stigma associated with HIV.
Register here, because you don’t want to miss out on an opportunity to learn more about how to Build CommuniTEA through self-advocacy and policy.
And while our Digital Days of Action are done, if you didn't get a chance to post anything, just share some of what we posted here:
If you add your thoughts to what you share, just remember we're trying to move away from stigmatizing language about HIV risk, and change the narrative to focus on REASONS that motivate and empower Black women and girls to address their sexual health. That's why we're using #RiskToReasons when possible.
Hope to see your posts! Tag Advocates for Youth so we can follow along! And as a reminder, tomorrow is National Women & Girls HIV & AIDS Awareness Day. We will be posting more about our 10 youth activists that will be working on the CommuniTEA project at our Instagram here.
Thank you for helping us amplify the voices of Black Women and Girls within the HIV movement.
In solidarity,
