Hi John,
Big news: Marianne Williamson has endorsed our campaign for Congress in WA-06!
In her words:
"I ran for president to help forge another direction for our country. I wanted to discuss things I felt needed to be discussed that otherwise were not. Now I hope the ideas my candidacy stood for will find seed in other campaigns.
Rebecca Parson is running for Congress in the northwestern most corner of the country (WA-06) on a platform to bring housing, healthcare, and hope to her district and has been utterly undeterred by establishment blacklisting by her own party."
I’ve spent my entire life fighting for progressive values — as a human rights observer in Mexico, a commissioner on the Tacoma Commission on Disabilities, a court appointed special advocate for kids in foster care, and a tenants rights organizer. I’ve been a substitute teacher in public schools, and I know how underfunded our schools are.
Now I want to fight for our progressive values in Congress.
Just like you, I’m fed up with the hypocrisy of politicians who say one thing and do another, who claim to want to help you but refuse to support policies like Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and housing and education for all. These same politicians who make you big promises, while quietly taking millions in corporate cash and serving those corporate interests at your expense. I’m the only candidate in this race who doesn’t accept corporate money.
I’ve been hugely inspired by Bernie’s 2016 and 2020 runs, as well as AOC’s win, because they show that a candidate like me — with my ideas — can win on an entirely people-funded campaign.
Here are a few videos of me, if you haven’t seen them already, to see what this campaign is all about:
Solidarity,
-Rebecca
