We are continuing our growth and the support we provide students!

March 2023 Update
Dear John,

Hope your February went well! We at Momentum Education have been busy and are excited to share our progress.

Firstly, Momentum Education is proud to announce we received a grant from the Charity Guild of Catholic Women.
This grant will help us expand our mentorship programming to 20 new high school students and ensure 20 more students graduate from high school, enter college, graduate from college, and secure a job. We are thankful for the Charity Guild's support, and we look forward to continuing to build this partnership.

Secondly, we are focused on ensuring every single student receives the individualized support they need. While this, of course, includes mentorship, it also includes wraparound services. This month, one of our high school students notified us that she was interested in marketing. We connected her with Andrew Ferraro, the Senior Manager of Communications at Bracewell LLP. Andrew had a phone conversation with the student and guided her on the marketing field. The student reported to us that "the call was wonderful and helped me learn so much!" Thank you so much, Andrew! This level of personal support is the hallmark of Momentum Education, and we will maintain this level of service as we continue to serve more and more students.

Finally, we are now providing monthly mentorship and enrichment services (including essay and resume feedback, connections to scholarships and summer programs, and exposure to various careers) to 647 students.

Thank you for joining us on this journey, and thank you for sharing your advice with us. Please email me anytime at [email protected] or call or text me at 713-320-0303 to share ideas and feedback.

Thank you, and let's keep building #OneMomentumFamily!

STUDENTS OF THE MONTH
Althea Gail Madrona
Sam Rayburn High School '25
___________________________
Althea grew up in Marikina City, Philippines, and moved to Texas when she was nine years old with her family. She is in the Early College program at her high school and is involved in their tennis team and their National Honor Society. Althea is also a part of Rayburn's BPA program where she placed fourth in her event and will head to Dallas to compete in the state competition. Althea plans to become a Pediatric nurse and save money to attend medical school in hopes of becoming a Pediatrician. When asked about her experience with Momentum Education, Althea shared, "My experience with Momentum Education has been incredible. I have monthly phone calls with my mentor, Galilea, who covers different topics that I need to know before I enter college, which is extremely helpful as none of my family members went through the same process I did when applying for college. Without Momentum Education, I don't think I would be where I am today and I know that I can be successful with my future endeavors
because of this program." Thank you, Althea, for your kind words and for letting us be a part of your journey!

Henrry Gonzalez
University of Houston '25
___________________________
Henrry is a college sophomore majoring in Civil Engineering. After college, he looks forward to focusing on structural or transportation work in Houston to help build and design innovations for his community. He previously interned at Williams and Walter P. Moore, and he always tries to maintain a work-life balance. When he is not in school, he enjoys surrounding himself with friends and spending time with them through sports and online gaming. Henrry has been a part of Momentum Education since his senior year of high school and when asked about his experience with Momentum Education he shared, "I am grateful for everything they have done for me. Being in Momentum Education has allowed me to really grow into the person I want to be. I am thankful for having a mentor that not only helps me with my academic goals and organizing my work but also provides feedback and a helping hand if I ever need anyone to talk to. The constant communication with my mentor, Raj, and Maria has made me
comfortable in seeking any type of help and I know my Momentum Education family will always be there." Thank you, Henrry, for forming part of our Momentum Education family and we are so excited to see how far you go.

TEAM MEMBER OF THE MONTH
We are happy to recognize Gabriela Perez as our Team Member of the Month! Gabriela is a sophomore at Tufts University studying Biopsychology and is one of our High School mentors. When asked about her experience with Momentum Education she shared that "This has been such a rewarding experience. I had the absolute pleasure of getting to know my mentee's aspirations, personalities, and goals as they applied to colleges in the fall. This spring, I get to celebrate their triumphs, acceptances, and accomplishment with them. Being a part of their journey has also meant growing alongside them as a person and student to best support them. As a first-generation college student, I know how difficult it can be to navigate the different possibilities of post-graduation especially when it comes to higher education. I have been fortunate to have had support when I was applying to colleges; it has been truly a full circle moment to now be that support for others." Thank you, Gabriela, we really
appreciate all your hard work!
