Donald Trump Becomes the First President to Address the March for Life
(VIDEO)

WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Trump made history today as the first
president to attend the annual March for Life commemorating the lives
lost to abortion in the years since Roe v. Wade. Although other
presidents have addressed the event remotely, Trump is the first to
make an appearance in person. The unprecedented presence of the
nation's Commander-in-Chief places the March for Life in the
public eye in a manner difficult for the media to ignore.

"We're here for a very simple reason, to defend the right
of every child, born and unborn, to fulfill their God-given
potential," Trump told the crowd. Trump's remarks drew
attention to a number of important aspects of the pro-life movement.
First, he specifically commended the high school and college students
in attendance, saying, "Young people are the heart of the march
for life." The pro-life movement has seen growing support from
younger generations, but much work still needs to be done. The
presence of young people in the pro-life movement matters as they
mobilize to help peers see the importance of defending the
vulnerable.

President Trump also pointed out the vital role that religious freedom
plays in defending the lives of the unborn, emphasizing the importance
of First Amendment rights for students, medical professionals, and
faith-based adoption agencies. Defending the rights of students to
speak up in defense of life at their high schools and on their college
and university campuses plays an important role in defending the lives
of the unborn as, slowly but surely, these groups see young people
change their minds about abortion.

Religious freedom is essential in the fight against abortion in the
medical community, as well, by protecting medical professionals'
right to act in accordance with their conscience and refuse to

destroy human life. Finally, faith-based

[link removed]

adoption and foster care agencies further the fight for life by
caring for vulnerable children and helping them find forever families.
Trump is right in pointing out that the First Amendment rights of each
of these groups are instrumental in advancing the pro-life cause.

[link removed]

In his closing remarks, Trump affirmed the fact that every human life
is a gift. "We cannot know what our citizens yet unborn will
achieve," he said. "...But we know this: every life
brings love into this world, every child brings joy to a family, every
person is worth protecting, and above all we know that every human
soul is divine and every human life, born and unborn is made in the
holy image of almighty God."

Abortion is a cruel injustice and robs the world individuals whose
presence would have enriched the lives of the people around them.
Trump's presence at the March for Life highlights the fact that
public leaders are able to lend the weight of their position to the
pro-life cause, and in so doing can further the protection of the
unborn. Having a president who publicly takes a pro-life position
helps to advance the pro-life movement, but the fight for life does
not end there.

Policy is an incredibly important piece of the pro-life movement, and
we are grateful for leaders at all levels of government who work to
end abortion. But, as the president himself acknowledged, the strength
of the pro-life movement is in the work that individuals do on a daily
basis to affirm the preciousness of every single human life, born and
unborn. That is a task that rests on each of us, not just our elected
leaders.

This is Why We Pray - And Why We March (March for Life 2020)

baby-feet-1527456_1920.jpg

Since 1974, the year after Roe v. Wade legalized abortion in all 50
states, men and women around the country have marched every year to
commemorate the lives lost to abortion. Almost 50 years later,
legalized abortion has resulted in the deaths of over 61 million
unborn babies.
[link removed]

The numbers are staggering, especially when one stops to consider that
every one of those babies was someone's daughter or son, sister,
brother, grandchild, niece or nephew. But far more earth-shattering is
the fact that we live in a nation that nonchalantly approves of this
evil at the rate of 39 murders per hour.

[link removed]

In the face of the evil of abortion, we cannot be silent-it is
an injustice that demands a response. The March for Life is one of the
ways that we respond. It is one of the ways that we tell the world and
our nation that abortion is not acceptable, that babies should not be
stripped of their right to life, and that women deserve better than
abortion.
[link removed]

As we march, we should keep in mind that hope in the face of the evil
of abortion can only be found at the cross, so we turn to God, praying
for his justice and his mercy for both the sinner and the sinned
against, knowing that apart from God the abortion industry will not be
defeated. God works through his people, but his people can accomplish
nothing apart from him.

Unplanned: How One Woman Defied Planned Parenthood (Free Film Showings
at Bethlehem Baptist Church)

Screen Shot 2020-01-10 at 11.36.56 AM.png

All Abby Johnson ever wanted to do was help women. As one of the
youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the nation, she was
involved in upwards of 22,000 abortions and counseled countless women
about their reproductive choices. Her passion surrounding a
woman's right to choose even led her to become a spokesperson
for Planned Parenthood, fighting to enact legislation for the cause
she so deeply believed in.

Until the day she saw something that changed everything, leading Abby
Johnson to become one of the most ardent pro-life speakers in
America.

The Sanctity of Life Ministry of Bethlehem Baptist Church invites you
to a showing of Unplanned, being shown at each of their three
campuses, on the following dates and times:

Tuesday, January 28, 7pm, Downtown Campus, 720 13th Ave S, Minneapolis

Sexual Identity and Labels: A Testimony by Rachel Gilson

Rachel-Gilson-Image-e1571168809325.png

As the Church learns how to better love the LGBT+ community while
holding to a biblical sexual ethic, it's critical to listen.

Rachel Gilson has been sharing her personal story of serving Jesus as
a same sex attracted believer for over three years. Rachel serves on
the leadership team of Theological Development and Culture with Cru
(formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) and Campus Staff for the
Northeast Region specifically in LGBT+ engagement.

Join us for a morning with Rachel as she shares how she met Jesus as a
student at Yale University and how meeting him changed her
understanding of her same-sex attraction. She will also speak to
sexual identity and labels. Does it matter if someone identifies as a
gay Christian or a same-sex attracted Christian? How does
self-identification impact the goal of sanctification and pursuit of
holiness?

This event is being offered in two different locations, one in North
Minneapolis and the other in South Minneapolis. Rachel Gilson will
cover the same content for both events.

for our biggest event of the year - our annual dinner with
pro-life crusader Abby Johnson. Abby's work with And Then There Were
None, a charity that helps abortion workers leave the industry, has
been hugely successful. And her new initiative, Love Lines, gives
financial support to women who choose LIFE.

But her story began in 2009, when she was a clinic director for
Planned Parenthood and had to witness, for the first time, an
ultrasound-guided abortion. With horror, she saw for the first time
what abortion really is: the killing by dismemberment of a baby. She
walked away and has been working to save lives ever since. Her
book Unplanned was turned into one of last year's most
surprising hit movies.

And she's coming to Minneapolis in May. Will you join us for our
Annual Dinner with Abby Johnson? Click below to register
