Wajax reported fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $400.6 million, up 34.4% from a year ago, and the Canadian heavy equipment and industrial parts distributor saw industrial parts and repair service sales increase due to strong customer demand and higher commodity prices. Full-year revenue for 2022 reached a record $1.45 billion, thanks to a partnership with Japanese equipment company Hitachi, and President and CEO Iggy Domagalski said the strong results allow Wajax "the flexibility to invest in our expanded Hitachi relationship, additional organic initiatives and acquisition opportunities to help drive future growth."
United Natural Foods reported fiscal second-quarter income of $19 million and revenue of $7.82 billion. Net income declined 71.2% year over year during the quarter, prompting the Rhode Island-based food distributor to raise its sales outlook for the second half of the fiscal year while lowering profitability expectations.
US Foods is trying to enhance both its customer and employee experiences by offering deliveries on Saturday and Sunday. "The results to-date have exceeded our expectations with significant reductions in turnover and positive employee feedback," the distributor said in a statement regarding the pilot program in three markets.
United Rentals' rental fleet now has Total Control telematics technology connected with more than 335,000 pieces of equipment, including earthmoving machinery, electric trucks, aerial-work platforms, light towers and generators. The New York Federal Reserve's Global Supply Chain Pressure Index dropped to -0.26 in February, its first negative reading since before the pandemic in August 2019. The index is compiled from 27 different cross-border variables and the Fed noted sharp falls in many of them.
