People have been asking me lately: What's next? How do we build on Democratic victories in Virginia? And, most importantly: How do we beat Donald Trump in 2020?

This has been on my mind every time I've traveled through Virginia to make sure we elect Democrats at the local, state, and federal level.

Here's my plan: I'm going to work with everything I've got to help Virginia Democrats take back the Senate and House of Delegates in 2019 and then make sure we keep Virginia blue in 2020. That means traveling the state to campaign for Democrats, defending hard-won Congressional seats, and building our grassroots Democratic organization across the Commonwealth.

I want you to do this with me -- commit to being a part of this effort over the next two years. I don't have a signup sheet or a form for you to fill out, but I want you to commit to doing whatever is in your power to make sure we win in 2019 and send Donald Trump a very clear message in 2020. That could mean knocking doors, talking to neighbors, working the polls, or whatever it is you're able to contribute. If you don't live in Virginia, then go out and make a difference in your community.

Unfortunately, our political system also requires tough, expensive campaigns. That goes double for battleground states like Virginia. In the coming months, I'll be investing in field organizing, digital outreach, and all of the other tools that will help Democrats win across Virginia over the next two years.
