Day of Action

Green American, Demand That Banks Stop Funding Climate Chaos!

Dear Green American,

Green America is excited to join the National Day of Action on March 21, 2023 for banking that supports people and the planet! Together we will demand that banks stop funding climate chaos.

Green America and our allies have been urging the big banks - Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, and Wells Fargo - to stop funding the climate crisis. We don’t want our money to be used by these banks to rob future generations of a healthy future and a livable planet. We want banks to invest in clean energy, good jobs, and climate solutions, not new pipelines, oil drilling, coal plants, and fracking.

The banks still have a long way to go to transition away from financing climate destruction. If the banks don’t stop financing the climate crisis, people are planning to publicly cut-up their big-bank credit cards, protest, and move their money.

On the Day of Action page you will find: a map of events and a form to submit your own event, an Event Guide/Toolkit, the Banking on our Future Pledge, and lots of FAQs.

You do not need to be a big bank cardholder or accountholder to participate. On March 21, we’ll collectively raise the visibility of the big banks’ role in climate destruction and grow our movement for climate justice and solutions.

This is going to be a fun and powerful day with art, songs, and community, amplifying our collective call to the banks: Quit funding fossil fuels or we will quit your banks!

Join us on 3.21.23 Day of Action to Stop Dirty Banks!

Banking for a better world,
