[[link removed]]Democrat,
While President Trump is busy coming to New Jersey to campaign for Rep. Jeff Van Drew, Democrats are working on important priorities. From Governor Murphy rebuilding NJ TRANSIT, to our state legislators fighting to lower prescription drug costs, to our members of Congress standing up for the Constitution, our Democrats at all levels are getting the job done for us.

If there is one thing New Jerseyans have made clear since 2016, it’s this: President Trump’s corrupt agenda is not welcome in our state. Now, Rep. Jeff Van Drew is bringing Trump right to our doorstep. Next week in Wildwood, Rep. Van Drew and President Trump are holding a rally together while Trump is facing an impeachment trial. Contribute now to help us vote Jeff Van Drew out in November! [[link removed]] [[link removed]]

Rebuilding NJ TRANSIT is one of Governor Murphy’s highest priorities, and more progress was made this week when the Governor announced that for the third consecutive year fares on the transit system will not increase. Fare increases on commuters were common under the Christie administration, with the cost of riding the system increasing by 36% even while service declined. Governor Murphy has reversed that course, all while investing much more into the system to improve reliability and service. Also this week, Governor Murphy celebrated another new class of NJ TRANSIT engineers as seven new recruits began their careers with the agency.

New Jersey Democrats packed the Bridgewater Marriott earlier this week to show their enthusiastic backing of four frontline members of Congress as they face re-election later this year. The event raised funds for the state’s four members of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s 2019-2020 Frontline Program, designed to help Democrats protect the historic gains made in the Blue Wave election of 2018: Rep. Andy Kim (D-03); Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-05); Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-07); and Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-11).
Governor Phil Murphy attended the event with First Lady Tammy Murphy, Vice Chair Peg Schaffer and myself as special guests. Read more about the event here. [[link removed]] [[link removed]]

This week Governor Murphy signed legislation to help limit out-of-pocket prescription drug expenses for New Jersey families. The bill, which requires health insurers to provide plans that limit patient cost-sharing concerning prescription drug coverage, will improve affordability and access for those who require necessary medication. Primary sponsors of the legislation include Assemblymembers Daniel Benson, Angelica Jimenez, BettyLou DeCroce, and Tim Eustace, and Senators Loretta Weinberg and Thomas Kean, Jr.
Thank you,
Chairman John Currie
