The Republican House speaker gave Fox News exclusive access to the U.S. Capitol footage of the January 6th insurrection. The Fox News talking head, Tucker Carlson cherry-picked scenes of trespassers puttering around the building, saying the event that day "was neither an insurrection nor deadly;" completely ignoring the fact that multiple died as a result of the violence that day.

Fox News' propaganda feeds into the Republicans' own whitewashing that the deadly event was nothing more than "a few tourists."

This comes as more and more court documents are released showing that Fox News knowingly and continually lied to their viewers about 2020 presidential election results. For months, they poured fuel on Trump's dumpster fire of lies that led to the violent attack on our democracy on January 6th.

The truth is that Fox News is more concerned about their ratings and their bottom line than actually reporting honest news.

The problem is that right-wing media, like Fox News, dwarfs progressive outlets, with a huge reach and influence over the American population. Fox News has been the highest rated cable news outlet for years.

Daily Kos is one of the largest progressive news outlets in the country, but we need to be much, much bigger in order to more effectively debunk right-wing lies that are threatening our democracy.
