We have big news, John: the Women’s Health Protection Act , the bill that would codify Roe v. Wade into law and protect abortion rights nationwide, was just reintroduced in the Senate in honor of International Women’s Day.

Let’s be clear: Abortion rights are human rights.

When the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last year, they rolled back the clock on 50 years of human rights. Now, extremist judges and state legislators are working overtime to restrict access to abortion all across the country.

When the Women’s Health Protection Act came to a vote last year, it failed. But now, Democrats have one extra vote in their majority.

Passing this bill is still a long shot, especially with a Republican controlled House. But that doesn’t mean we give up before we start. Now is the time to organize and apply immense pressure on our lawmakers to restore our human rights and undo the damage done by the Supreme Court last year.

Will you add your name to this petition telling lawmakers we demand their support for the Women’s Health Protection Act this time around? We’ll need as many voices as possible joining together to get this done: [[link removed]]

Katie announced her campaign exactly six years ago today, on a mission to improve the lives of women everywhere. Today, we still follow that same mission.

Thanks, and Happy International Women’s Day.
