John, all Texas students deserve an education that prepares them to succeed, no matter their color, where they live, their religious faith, or how much money their parents make.
Let your legislators know! [[link removed]]
Gov. Greg Abbott's latest attempt to push voucher programs would drain tax dollars from neighborhood public schools for every student, only to subsidize tuition at private and religious schools for the few who can already afford it. We need a public school system that invests more in students, not less. This is just another thinly veiled attempt to weaken our public schools to divert public funds to schools that are unregulated, unaccountable to taxpayers, and do not meet the educational standards required of our public schools.
Tell the Legislature: Vote down any voucher scheme that diverts tax dollars from neighborhood public schools. [[link removed]]
We encourage you to take the time to personalize your message by adding in your role as a community member (parent, student, teacher, faith leader, former Texas public school student, etc.) and why you support public education in Texas.
In the fight,
