John,

This International Women’s Day, I want to celebrate and honor all the women who have shaped our country and paved the way for future generations.

From Ida B. Wells to Rosa Parks to Shirley Chisholm to Dolores Huerta to my own mother, I wouldn’t be where I am today without the strength of so many incredible women who challenged assumptions, fearlessly fought for progress, and continue to serve as inspirations today.

They're why I still fight my heart out for women and girls everywhere. They're why I helped organize the Women’s March in 2017, why I first decided to run for office, and why in the legislature I introduced legislation to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment in our Commonwealth.

I'm running again this year because the fight for gender equality is far from done. I'm running so that future generations of women may see a world where equal pay and reproductive justice are realities. And I'm running to stop right-wing extremists in Virginia from making that world harder to achieve.

If I lose my race for State Senate, Republicans will have an excellent chance to take control of the chamber — and be in a position to pass abortion bans and other legislation that will reduce opportunities for women.

Election Day is in less than 8 months, and we can't waste a second in preparing for a tough road ahead. John, will you help support my campaign with a donation of $3.80 or more?

Thanks for standing up for equality and fighting with me.
