The pressure's on—and it’s working.
You and I know a thing or two about making bold moves.
When I told you we were targeting massive global food manufacturers that are choosing silence over transparent, meaningful progress for animals, advocates like you showed up in a big way.
That’s because you and I know that every sector of the food industry—like global manufacturers, restaurants, and bakeries—represents a significant number of companies that pledged to stop holding hens in extreme confinement but won’t publicly share their progress.
That includes fourteen global food manufacturers that serve waffles, breakfast sandwiches, and more to massive corporations like grocery stores, chain restaurants, and cafeterias.
These multibillion-dollar companies have the power to stop subjecting egg-laying hens to a lifetime of extreme confinement. But until they publicly share meaningful progress, millions of animals could continue to suffer in silence.
We won’t let that happen.
As part of this dedicated, compassionate community, I know you and I can create meaningful change. After all, we’ve done it before! With every restaurant, grocery store, cruise line, cafeteria, bakery, or food manufacturer that has publicly shared progress toward ending the use of extreme confinement, countless animals got a chance at a better life.
Now food manufacturers are feeling the pressure. They’ve tried to ignore us, but we’re getting to them. We know this because we’ve heard from PepsiCo and Kellogg’s—and Cerealto Siro took down its welfare policy for hens before reinstating it. These companies are definitely paying attention.
That’s why we need to keep the momentum going today.
You can be the person who pushes our movement past this moment. Will you join me in demanding meaningful change? [[link removed]]
Let’s send a strong message to food manufacturers (and their entire sector!) that selective silence won’t cut it. Let’s let them feel the heat.
For the animals,
Ellie Donohoue-Miller
