A company that makes voting machines is suing Fox News for broadcasting unfounded allegations that it rigged the 2020 election.

With this lawsuit, internal communications and sworn testimony from Fox News bigwigs such as Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity — even the network’s CEO, Rupert Murdoch himself — are coming to light.

And they tell a very clear story:

Fox News executives and on-air personalities privately doubted Donald Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him as a result of widespread fraud.

But the network continued giving significant coverage to the Big Lie anyway — quite likely for fear of angering Trump’s adherents and losing them to competing far-right “news” outlets.

That brings us to this week.

On Monday — using a massive trove of security video from the Capitol transferred exclusively to him by Republican Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy — Tucker Carlson aired misleadingly edited footage that tried to cast January 6 as little more than everyday sightseeing with some “peaceful chaos” at worst.

This was too much even for Senator Mitch McConnell, who called Carlson’s latest whitewashing of the attempted coup a flat-out “mistake.”

After all this time — and after all the internal communications now seeing the light of day — why is Fox News allowing Tucker Carlson to continue pushing the Big Lie?

Tell Fox News CEO Rupert Murdoch:

Internal communications and sworn testimony in the Dominion Voting Systems lawsuit against Fox News show even top executives and hosts doubted Donald Trump’s Big Lie. Yet one of your network’s most infamous on-air figures, Tucker Carlson, is not only claiming that the 2020 election was “a grave betrayal of American democracy,” but is also downplaying what happened on January 6, 2021, when adherents of Donald Trump attacked the U.S. Capitol. It is time for you to fire Tucker Carlson and publicly renounce the Big Lie once and for all.
