John,
Young voters turned out in record numbers to fight for critical issues impacting their generation―from the climate crisis to access to higher education to jobs and wages and more.
The leaders of tomorrow are ready to lead now. That’s exactly why we launched our youth civic engagement fellowship, to provide young people with the tools and resources to be organizers and leaders in their local community.
Our 2023 Youth Civic Engagement Fellowship launched in January, training 13 Fellows, ages 14 to 17 in areas ranging from grassroots organizing to communications. Our Fellows are 100% BIPOC with 85% identifying as women, 7% men, and 7% non-binary.
Each month, our Fellows come together to hear from grassroots and elected leaders, as well as to learn from each other, bringing their own individual experiences to this 8-month training.
One Fellow recently told us:
“In the short time I’ve been in this fellowship I have witnessed immense love, strength, struggles, and power. Surrounded by my likeminded allies, I can clearly say this fellowship is one step in an ongoing marathon to success and prosperity.”
We’re in the 3rd month of this 8 month training, with much more to come including trainings on environmental justice and education justice. Pitch in to my Rooted in Community Leadership PAC now to train the leaders of tomorrow today.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately, with 100% going directly to the Rooted In Community Leadership PAC
Together, we are empowering the next generation to fight for their future and ours.
In solidarity,
Rashida
