It’s been nine months since the Supreme Court’s right-wing majority overturned Roe v. Wade and wiped out abortion access for millions of Americans. Like many of you, I’m still angry — not only with Republicans whose actions have endangered the health and safety of millions, but also on behalf of women across the nation whose rights have been taken from them.
But as I said last June, I’m not giving up. Abortion access is a fundamental right, and I’ll never stop fighting to protect it.
That’s why today, I’m re-introducing my bill to restore reproductive rights in the Senate, the Women’s Health Protection Act.
Across the country, far-right legislators and judges have stripped women of the right to make decisions about their own bodies. Right here in Wisconsin, we are stuck with a law from 1849 banning nearly all abortions. It’s not just ridiculous — it’s dangerous — and it’s time to take action at the federal level.
The Women’s Health Protection Act would preserve the right for patients to receive abortions and for providers to perform abortions — all without fear of prosecution or unfair restrictions.
I will do everything in my power to get this legislation across the finish line and ensure women everywhere can get the health care they need — and I’m hoping you’ll be fighting right beside me to protect abortion access.
Please, will you sign onto my petition calling for the swift passage of the Women’s Health Protection Act in the Senate and Congress?
I’ll keep you closely updated on the progress of this legislation. Rest assured that I am doing everything I can to pass this bill and restore the right to choose.
Thank you for your early support of this bill,
Tammy
