Happy International Women's Day, John!
From my early days as an ROTC cadet to then joining the Air Force to becoming the first woman ever to represent Pennsylvania's 6th District in Congress, I have consistently made it my mission to empower more women and girls everywhere.
Our ongoing work demands that we remain committed to issues like protecting women's reproductive rights and ensuring all women have the support they need to achieve their full potential.
But, we've made incredible progress in other important ways.
For one, I am thrilled that 2022 was a historic year for electing women to Congress, with a record number of female representation, including the landmark election of Philadelphia's Joanna McClinton as the first woman and second Black person to serve as speaker of the Pennsylvania House.
This is a significant milestone for women and minorities in our state, and I am excited to see the positive changes that Speaker McClinton will bring to our state and country.
And so much still needs to be done; I am dedicated to continuing the effort to empower women and girls everywhere. On this International Women's Day, I hope you'll join me in recommitting ourselves to the mission of achieving true gender equality.

There's work to be done.
