Team,

2023 is the year we make major steps towards ending Alzheimer’s Disease as we know it.

I lost my mother to Alzheimer’s after a 10-year battle with the illness. I know the toll of this terrible disease and the urgent need to find better treatments and a cure. That’s why I’m proud to have worked with my colleagues – both Democrats and fair-minded Republicans – to introduce a pair of bipartisan bills that will enhance our national plan to tackle the disease.

I’ve introduced two bills to extend and modernize the National Alzheimer's Project, the federal program that implements our national Alzheimer’s research strategy. The bills are frankly pretty technical, but they reflect three commonsense goals.

* First, they will cement a long-term federal commitment to curing Alzheimer’s Disease.

* Second, our bills will help the National Alzheimer’s Project keep up with the science and support new areas of research that have emerged since Congress last took up this issue.

* Third and finally, they will help the federal government plan ahead for future research, so that we can make sure scientists have the resources they need to find a cure and that our tax dollars are wisely spent.

We’ve made great strides in our work to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s, but frankly, we need grassroots support to get these important bills across the finish line So I’m asking: Will you add your name and join me in supporting legislation to cure Alzheimer’s? [link removed]

The truth is, Alzheimer’s Disease doesn’t care if you’re a Democrat or a Republican. From the personal impact on patients, to the billions of dollars we spend on treatment, to the countless hours of unpaid labor performed by caregivers—our whole country suffers the longer we wait to find a cure. Our bipartisan legislation will accelerate the national plan to find a cure on behalf of the millions of American families who have been touched by this disease.

If we are to continue our work to end Alzheimer’s, we need to keep up the momentum and increase federal funding for research and potential treatments.

Please, join me today to fight for all those who have been impacted by this disease >> [link removed]

Thanks,

Mark Warner
