Today's the first day of our Save the Senate Fund — a three-day push to help power the campaigns of Democratic pro-choice women committed to saving our razor-thin Senate majority this cycle.

I'll be blunt, John: Our Senate majority is razor-thin.
While we successfully grew the Senate majority beyond a 50-50 tie last November, just two seats stand between us and a Republican-controlled Congress. And there is no question what a Republican Senate would prioritize — we're already seeing the GOP's extreme anti-choice agenda playing out in the House.
Which is why I wanted to reach out on the Launch Day of our three-day Save the Senate Fund. We've set an ambitious goal of $150,000 to invest in Democratic pro-choice women who will fight this cycle to keep the Senate gavel out of the hands of anti-choice Republicans. We're thinking of this as a down payment on the success of the women we'll support this cycle, and we know that they'll pay dividends in their fierce pro-choice leadership!

House Republicans have been hard at work attacking abortion access since Kevin McCarthy received the speaker's gavel, and have already passed two anti-choice bills since mid-January. Without the federal protections of Roe v. Wade in place, House Republicans will pass a national abortion ban — and the only thing stopping these bans from heading to the president's desk is the tiny Democratic Senate majority.
The first quarter of the 2023-2024 cycle may seem early to begin raising the warning bells, but I know that you've seen the numbers, John. Democrats are defending 23 Senate seats, over twice the amount that Republicans will have to defend, just to maintain our two-seat advantage.
Anti-choice Republicans are already launching (and bankrolling) campaigns with the hopes of flipping as many seats as possible — so this is where we fight back.
