JOhn, today is International Women's Day — a day to celebrate the achievements of women and recommit to realizing gender equality.
I was first elected to the House as part of a historic wave of women in 2018. Since entering Congress, I've supported legislation that expands women’s access to quality, affordable health care, family planning services, and contraception. I've voted to expand paid family and medical leave programs, end violence against women, promote women’s involvement in STEM and political fields, and close the gender pay gap.
But there is much more to be done. The last few years have shown unmistakably how women are disproportionately impacted by economic and healthcare disparities. And in the United States over the last 8 months, tens of millions of women have had to adjust to a stark new reality in which their right to reproductive freedom is no longer recognized.
I will keep fighting to restore the right to choose — and I'll keep fighting for gender equality on all fronts. My advocacy is likely to make me a top target of anti-choice Republicans (just as it did in 2022), so if you can chip in any amount today to my re-election campaign, it would make a huge difference. Your grassroots support is what fuels our continued advocacy and our ability to fight back against right-wing misinformation.
