I asked this team why you’ll sleep better when Mitch McConnell is out of office. Here’s what you had to say.

Friend, when I reached out a few weeks ago, a huge number of you stepped up to tell us why you’ll sleep better when Mitch is voted out of office.

I want to say thanks, one more time, to everyone who took a minute to weigh in. I stayed up late reading your answers—many were moving and thought-provoking, from people of all ages and backgrounds, life experiences and political inclinations.

But one thing tied all your responses together: the absolute urgency of winning this election and sending a new senator to Washington.

Here are a few highlights from what you told me:

We’ll be healthier

I’m going to sleep better at night without Sen. Mitch McConnell because I will know someone who is fighting for my son’s health care will be in his place, and not someone who is bought and paid for by the insurance industry.
—Jessica

We’ll have our priorities straight

I think everything will be better with Mitch McConnell out of office. Because of his dishonesty, the security of our country is at risk. Our health care system is also threatened. Our infrastructure (roads & bridges, etc.) is really bad because he refuses to contribute to that. We are worse off in every way with him in office.
—Judy

My family and I will sleep better, confident we are being represented by a person committed to bring Kentucky and our nation back into alignment with our constitution. By defeating self-serving Mitch, our stress level will be greatly reduced. By taking the Senate, average Americans will breathe easier when health issues arise. Climate change, equality for all, separation of church and state, and education will be prioritized so future generations may be productive members of society.
—Colette

We’ll have a functioning democracy again

Once Mitch is out of office I feel that the executive branch will be held accountable to the existing laws and with that I hope we can return to a position where our country functions again for all of us.
—Tony

If you defeat Mitch McConnell, I will sleep better at night knowing that there is hope for our democracy. It's that simple.
—David

Team, that was just the tip of the iceberg in terms of what’s keeping you all up at night after 35 years of Mitch McConnell in power.

If you’re ready to get better sleep after November 3rd, chip in now and let’s make this Mitch’s final year in office.

Thanks,
Amy
