Hello John — It’s Jackie Corin reaching out, Parkland survivor and co-founder of March For Our Lives. In less than a month, we’ll be taking action in five states to mark the 5th anniversary of our movement’s founding.

My friends and I founded March For Our Lives because we were horrified by what we experienced that horrifying day five years ago at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. It was the worst day in our lives and we had to stand up and say—enough.

The adults clearly weren’t keeping us safe, so we took it on ourselves to shine a light on this crisis and move the country to action. We organized hundreds of marches all across the country, bringing millions of people together, to make it loud and clear that “thoughts and prayers” weren't going to cut it anymore — we need bold gun safety laws that will actually save lives.

Since then, we’ve made a ton of progress. Looking back at our legislative success over the years, we’ve helped pass over 250 state laws and a once unthinkable federal gun safety law, mobilized millions of young people to the polls, and so much more.

There’s no doubt we have some crucial fights ahead of us. But having your trust and support is why our movement is still standing strong five years later.
