Today is International Women’s Day — a day dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the progress made by and for women all over the world! We know there is still much work to be done for gender equality, but if we work collectively, we can make the world a more loving and equitable place for all women.

Here are three ways you can support the women in your life and challenge gender inequality:

  1. Create a gender-sensitive and inclusive environment for LGBTQ young people.
One of the best ways you can support and affirm LGBTQ young people is by using their preferred names and pronouns. Our Guide to Being an Ally to Transgender and Nonbinary Young People can guide you through allyship.

  2. Use gender-inclusive language.
Imagine a world free of gender bias, stereotypes, and discrimination where differences are valued, supported, and encouraged.  You can help support equality and a more inclusive culture by using gender-neutral language (folks, everyone, ya’ll), in group settings. Check out our guide: Understanding Gender Identities, to learn more about the spectrum of gender identity.

  3. Support our advocacy work.
Legislation, movements, education, and more — there is so much work we do to change our world for the better. Through federal, state, and local action, data collection, and research studies, we advocate for the rights and futures of all LGBTQ young people.

There wouldn’t be a movement without you. We hope you’ll consider supporting us this International Women’s Day as we continue our work to build a safer, more inclusive world for LGBTQ young people.

We couldn't do our work without your support.

Give today and help us continue
saving young LGBTQ lives.
