Over the past several weeks, our legislative affairs and communications teams worked with United States Senator James Lankford (OK) to write a joint op-ed in Oklahoma opposing legalization. The article, co-authored by Senator Lankford and me, "More marijuana is bad for Oklahoma," was published on Saturday.
Your generosity has already gone a long way. With your help, we have won 4 out of the last 6 ballot measures. And although our victories have been major setbacks for legalizers nationwide, the fight continues.
While we're celebrating the win in Oklahoma, we know legalizers will not give up on Oklahoma or other states, like Arkansas, that have also rejected legalization, and neither will we. In addition to working in states where legalizers will again try to initiate ballot measures, we are working in legal states, including in neighboring New Mexico, to educate citizens on the dangers of marijuana use and encourage lawmakers to stand up to massive commercialization.
Please consider donating to SAM to help us continue to raise awareness about the harms of legalization.
SAM continues to do a whole lot with just a little, and we have never and will never take any money from pharmaceutical companies, tobacco companies, or alcohol companies. We're funded largely by people like you.
When you donate to SAM, you're helping us get the word out about the harms of marijuana to parents, kids, and lawmakers. Your donations are why we are able to stand a chance in this fight, so please consider donating today.
